Eric Smith develops Brickrise and operates brickrisegame.com. This policy explains how information is handled in the game and on this website. For privacy questions or requests, email festoon-defence9m@icloud.com.
Automatic diagnostics are optional and start off. You can play and keep your worlds without enabling them. Sending an individual problem report is a separate choice.
Your worlds
Brickrise stores worlds and game settings on your device. It does not automatically send saved worlds to the developer. A world copy is included in a problem report only when you select that option. Device backups and files you export or share are also subject to the services you choose.
Optional automatic diagnostics
If you allow automatic diagnostics, Brickrise uses Sentry to send crash, error and performance information so the developer can investigate problems and improve the game. This can include:
- App version, device model, operating system and technical error details.
- Pseudonymous device identifiers, such as a randomly generated installation ID, and random session IDs.
- World identifiers and types, recent building actions, graphics settings and position within the game.
- Frame times, memory use, thermal conditions and activity such as loading, saving or returning from the background.
This is limited recent diagnostic history, not a recording of everything you do. Screenshots and saved world files are not attached automatically. We filter personal device names and personal user fields from diagnostic events, but error messages or information you submit can still contain personal information.
Reports may be queued on your device and sent when connectivity returns or when you reopen the game. These identifiers connect related reports; they do not make the information anonymous.
Reports you choose to send
You can use Report a problem even with automatic diagnostics off. Selecting Send report sends your description, current technical context and any available diagnostic history through Sentry. Pictures and world copies require separate selections.
With automatic diagnostics off, a report still includes current app, device and world information; it does not create a history of your earlier activity. Please avoid putting personal or sensitive information in descriptions or attachments.
Save a copy on this device does not upload the report. Sharing a saved report uses the recipient and service you choose.
Changing your choice
Open Privacy & Diagnostics from the main-menu Settings or the gameplay Controls menu to change your choice. Declining diagnostics does not restrict gameplay or your worlds.
Turning diagnostics off stops future automatic collection and reporting. Brickrise also attempts to remove pending automatic data from the device and prevents withdrawn data from being sent if you later enable reporting again. Turning reporting back on after withdrawal takes effect after reopening the app.
Turning reporting off does not recall information already delivered, delete saved report copies or remove your worlds.
Website visits and email
Vercel hosts this website. Serving and protecting the site involves technical request information such as IP address, browser information, requested pages and request times. This website does not include advertising or optional visitor analytics. See Vercel’s privacy notice.
If you email us, we receive your address, any name you provide, your message and its attachments. We use this information to respond and investigate your request. Email is processed by the services used to send and receive it, including Apple’s iCloud service for our contact address.
Apple and TestFlight
Apple handles TestFlight distribution and its own diagnostic and feedback collection separately. During beta testing, Apple automatically collects crash and usage information and shares it with the developer. Tester information or feedback may include your name and email address. Brickrise’s diagnostics setting does not control Apple’s collection. See TestFlight & Privacy.
Use, storage and retention
We use this information to operate and protect the website, provide support, investigate bugs and improve Brickrise. We do not sell it or use it to build advertising profiles.
Sentry processes diagnostics and submitted reports; Vercel provides hosting; email providers handle correspondence. Relevant content from diagnostics and reports sent directly to Brickrise may also be reviewed using development tools, including AI-assisted debugging services, to help investigate and fix issues. These services may process information in the United States or other countries.
Diagnostic events and attachments are subject to Sentry’s applicable retention settings and service limits. Copies downloaded for an investigation and support correspondence are retained separately while needed to investigate, resolve and verify issues or meet legal obligations. Their retention can differ from Sentry’s. The app retains up to three recent report ZIPs locally.
Privacy requests
Email us to ask about access, correction or deletion of information we hold. A report ID, approximate date and app build can help locate diagnostic records; you do not need an ID to contact us. We may need enough information to identify the relevant records and verify your request.
We will address requests under applicable privacy law and explain any limitations. Requests concerning information Apple holds independently can also be made through Apple’s Data and Privacy service. Parents or guardians concerned about information submitted by a child can contact us at the same email address.
We will update this page when these practices change.
